Updates

What's new

The latest improvements to WowTodo, newest first.

  1. Wow remembers you

Arrives on its own if you have version 1.4.0 or newer: close and reopen WowTodo twice. On an older version? Update from Google Play first.

    • Only if you want it. A card on Home asks first. Memory stays off until you tap Turn on.
    • Fewer things to repeat. Wow keeps a few facts from tasks you confirm, like your gym time or that Rahul is your manager, and uses them to plan better.
    • You see it before it’s kept. Before you save, Wow shows what it will remember or change. Untick anything you don’t want kept.
    • Which Rahul? If you know two people with the same name, Wow asks which one you mean, and shows them on the task.
    • All in one place. Settings → Privacy & account → What Wow knows lets you see, edit or forget anything, pause it, or clear it all.
    • Confirm always in view. The Confirm button on the review screen is no longer hidden behind the bottom bar.
  2. Real plans for courses, and typing that stays in view

Arrives on its own if you have version 1.4.0 or newer: close and reopen WowTodo twice. On an older version? Update from Google Play first.

    • Plans with real content. Ask for a course, a syllabus, a study or training plan, or a trip itinerary and each day comes with what to cover, not just “Day 1”.
    • Typing stays in view. Editing a step now opens just above the keyboard, and lists, dialogs and your profile move up so you can always see what you type.
    • Tidier group chips. On the Tasks screen, only groups with tasks in view are shown.
  3. Tasks that come back, and no double bookings

Arrives on its own if you have version 1.4.0 or newer: close and reopen WowTodo twice. On an older version? Update from Google Play first.

    • Tasks that repeat. Say “take vitamin D every day at 9 am” or “change the bedsheets every Sunday” and the task comes back on its own, with fresh steps each time.
    • Missed days don’t pile up. Miss a day and it shows once, not once for every day you missed. Finish it or skip it and the next one is lined up.
    • See how each day went. Look back at an earlier day and see what you ticked off that time.
    • Start and end times. “Review the slides from 4 to 5 pm” keeps both times.
    • A heads-up before a clash. If something overlaps with what you already have, Wow tells you before you save, and you can pick another time. Choose how close is too close in Settings → Reminders.
    • Browse by day. A week strip on the Tasks screen shows busy days at a glance. Tap the month for the whole month.
  4. Wow keeps up with you

Arrives on its own if you have version 1.4.0 or newer: close and reopen WowTodo twice. On an older version? Update from Google Play first.

    • Add to what you just made. Say “also collect the printouts after lunch” and Wow adds it to the task you made earlier, instead of starting a new one.
    • Move or rename by voice. “Move the groceries to tomorrow” or “call the report step quarterly report” changes that step for you.
    • One plan for your day. Say a list of errands for today and they land together in one plan, like “Plan · Fri 16 Oct”. Anything you add later today joins it.
    • You stay in control. Wow shows what it will add or change before anything is saved, and you can always make it a new task instead.
  5. Ask anything, say it your way

Arrives on its own if you have version 1.4.0 or newer: close and reopen WowTodo twice. On an older version? Update from Google Play first.

    • Ask, and get an answer. Ask a question like “How do I make masala chai?” and Wow answers it right away. Want it on your list? Tap “Make it a task”.
    • Hinglish times understood. Say “kal shaam 6 baje dentist ka appointment hai” and it lands on tomorrow at 6 pm, as one simple task.
    • Times that make sense. “In 2 hours”, “after lunch”, “tonight” and “tomorrow evening” now get the right time and day.
    • Sharper plans. Recipes, trips and everyday plans come back clearer, with fewer made-up steps.
  6. Speak your way, plan your way

Arrives on its own if you have version 1.4.0 or newer: close and reopen WowTodo twice. On an older version? Update from Google Play first.

    • Speak the way you like. WowTodo now works out whether you are speaking English or हिंदी. The EN/हिं switch on Home is gone.
    • Choose your plan language. In Settings → Language, pick the language you speak and the language your plans come back in: the same as you spoke, English or हिंदी.
    • Easier typing screen. When you type a task, Back, voice and Create sit together in one row just above the keyboard, with today's day, date and time at the top.
    • Only what you can act on. Steps in a shared task that you can't open no longer show up as due or overdue on your Home.
  7. Write your own list, in your language

Arrives on its own if you have version 1.4.0 or newer: close and reopen WowTodo twice. On an older version? Update from Google Play first.

    • Write it yourself. When you type a task, choose “I’ll write it” to add your own title and steps, with no planning. Paste a list and each line becomes a step.
    • Branches your way. Break a step into smaller ones by writing them yourself, or let Wow plan them like before.
    • Ideas only when you ask. On a task you wrote, tap “Suggest steps” for a few ideas and keep the ones you like.
    • Pick your app language. Settings → Language switches WowTodo between English and हिंदी right away. Your tasks stay in the language you wrote them in.
    • Hindi looks right. Hindi words no longer get cut off on buttons and labels.
    • Today and Overdue, side by side. Home shows today’s steps first, and anything overdue in its own section below.
  8. A new Home and a fresher look

Arrives on its own if you have version 1.4.0 or newer: close and reopen WowTodo twice. On an older version? Update from Google Play first.

    • Your day at a glance. Home now greets you with what's due today and what's overdue, and lists today's steps so you can tick them off right there.
    • Answer people from Home. Share requests, group join requests and chats with new messages show up on Home, so nothing waits for you unseen.
    • Tasks sorted by day. The Tasks screen groups everything into Overdue, Today, Tomorrow and Later. Choose a simple list or cards in Settings → Appearance.
    • A fresh, warmer look. Every screen has been tidied up with clearer buttons, lists and counts, in light and dark.
    • A nicer chat. Chat shows the task's next step at the top, and tagged steps sit neatly above each message.
    • React with an emoji. Hold a message to react with one of six emoji, see who reacted, and add emoji while you type.
  9. Plans for your whole group

    Version 1.4.0

New app version. Update WowTodo from Google Play to get this. Not sure which version you have? Open Settings in the app; it's shown at the bottom.

    • Share with many people at once. Pick several people, or a whole group, and share a task in one go.
    • Together, or everyone on their own. Do one list together, where everyone sees who ticked what, or give each person their own copy to work through.
    • Groups with an invite link. Make a group for your class, team or family and share its link or QR code. You approve everyone who asks to join.
    • See how everyone is doing. The new Progress tab shows who has finished, who hasn't, and which step people get stuck on.
    • A friendly nudge. Remind the people who haven't finished yet with one tap, at most once a day.
    • Change plans safely. Edit a step after sharing and WowTodo asks what should happen to ticks already made, tells people what changed, and keeps a history of edits.
  10. Never miss what matters

    Version 1.3.0

New app version. Update WowTodo from Google Play to get this. Not sure which version you have? Open Settings in the app; it's shown at the bottom.

    • Notifications even when WowTodo is closed. New chat messages, tasks shared with you and contact requests now reach your phone even when the app isn't open.
    • See progress as it happens. When someone ticks steps or finishes a task you share, you get a short heads-up, grouped so a busy afternoon doesn't flood your phone.
    • Straight to the right place. Tap a notification and WowTodo opens that chat or task directly.
    • You choose what you hear about. In Settings → Notifications, turn chats, shared tasks, progress and contacts on or off.
    • Settings, sorted. Each part of Settings now has its own page, and every row shows what it's set to.
    • A calmer start. WowTodo opens with a small, quiet welcome screen.
  11. A tidier bell

    • One line per chat. Each chat now has a single entry in the bell. A new message moves it to the top and shows how many you have not seen, instead of adding another line.
    • Chats and updates, apart. Messages sit under Chats; shares, replies and people requests sit under Updates, each with its own count, so a request waiting for you never gets buried.
    • Sorted by day. Notifications are grouped into Today, Yesterday, This week and Earlier.
    • Tidy on its own. Your newest 100 notifications are kept. A share request still waiting for your answer is never removed.
  12. Chat inside shared tasks

    • Talk about a task without leaving it. Every shared task now has a Chat button next to Share, so you can discuss it right there instead of switching to another app.
    • Everyone, or just one person. Talk to everyone on the task at once, or privately with one person.
    • Point at a step. Tag a step in your message, or tap ⋯ › Discuss in chat on any step. Tapping the tag opens that step.
    • Never miss a reply. New messages show on the task, in your Tasks list and in the bell, grouped into one line per chat.
    • You stay in control. Delete your own messages, and report anything that isn't right.
  13. Notifications open reliably

    • The bell works every time. Tapping the bell no longer closes the app after you reopen it.
  14. Sharing that keeps up with you

    • Changes show up on their own. When someone ticks a step, accepts your task or stops sharing, you see it straight away, without switching apps.
    • Know where each share stands. Every shared task shows who accepted, who hasn't answered yet and who said no.
    • Shared tasks in your Tasks list. Tasks others share with you now appear under Tasks, and a banner shows the ones waiting for your answer.
    • A bell that counts. The bell shows how many new notifications you have, and each one shows what happened since.
    • Messages you won't miss. Pop-up messages stay a little longer and have a View button that takes you right there.
    • See what you type. The screen moves up with the keyboard, so the box you type in and its button stay in view.
    • Branches finish properly. A step with a branch is marked done only when everything in its branch is done.
  15. Share in one tap, and groups in Hindi

    • Share in one tap. Open any task and tap Share to plan it together with someone.
    • Know what's due. Every task on your list now shows when it's due, so nothing sneaks up on you.
    • Your groups, in Hindi too. Tasks you write in Hindi show their group in Hindi, like घर or सेहत.
    • Smarter plans. No more steps that just repeat your task, and no more reminders to book a table at the very moment the dinner starts.
    • Easier to read. The branch map now starts with your main task, and pictures on a person's page no longer overlap.
  16. Branch fixes

    • Progress stays in step. Tick a step inside a branch and the parent task shows the new progress straight away.
    • A Back link at the top of tasks, branches and the branch tree.
  17. Branches you can share

    • Any step can become its own plan. Branch a step and it shows its own progress bar and who is working on it.
    • Share exactly what you want. When you share a task, choose which branches go with it. You can also share a single branch with one person, for example one part of a project per student.
    • Review finished work. When someone finishes a branch you shared, you get a notification and mark it done once you've checked it.
    • See the whole tree. A new tree view shows every branch, as an outline or as a map with coloured lanes.
    • Find people faster. Search your contacts when sharing.
  18. One place for people

    • Everything about the people you share with is now under People: requests waiting for your answer, your contacts, and what each of you has shared.
    • Clearer labels. "From Asha" and "To Asha" make it obvious who shared what.
    • A simpler bottom bar: Tasks, the mic, and People. Settings moved into the menu.
  19. Faster notifications

    • The bell updates as soon as something happens, and catches up when you come back to the app.
    • Get a phone notification when someone shares with you or answers your share.
  20. Contacts

    Version 1.2.0

New app version. Update WowTodo from Google Play to get this. Not sure which version you have? Open Settings in the app; it's shown at the bottom.

    • Add people by link, QR code or email. You only share with people you've added.
    • Edit a task after saving it.
    • Getting started tasks show what WowTodo can do.
    • Block or report someone from their profile or a shared task.
    • Smoother profile editing, and clearer messages when something goes wrong.
  21. First release

    Version 1.0.0

New app version. Update WowTodo from Google Play to get this. Not sure which version you have? Open Settings in the app; it's shown at the bottom.

    • Say or type what's on your mind, in English or Hindi, and WowTodo turns it into a plan with steps, reminders and groups.
    • Share tasks and see progress together.
